Who we are

A small core team of volunteers has been assembled to manage the administration and direction of the fundraising efforts in Sean’s name. Around them is a much larger team of volunteers, friends and family who are actively involved in the different initiatives.

The core team includes:

Gerry Gaetz, Gavin Lumsden, Terry Kell, Harold Mah, Norm O'Reilly and Tim Redpath.

Gerry is Chief of Banking Operations at the Bank of Canada and is responsible for the Bank's Currency function and its Banking Services operations. Gerry hiked with the expedition to Everest Base Camp.

Gavin is a Supervising Producer with Rogers Television in Ottawa. Gavin hiked with the expedition to Everest Base Camp and is making a full-length documentary on Sean Egan and the expedition for release in the Fall of 2005.

Terry is president of Kanatek Technologies, an enterprise storage solution provider. Kanatek was the main sponsor for the Everest expedition. Terry hiked with the expedition to Everest Base Camp reporting daily through the blog.

Harold Mah is the Event Support Manager for the City of Toronto. Harold stayed with Sean at Base Camp and personally climbed to the base of the Lhotse Face (21,670 feet). He reported daily through the blog when the rest of the party left Base camp.

Norm O’Reilly is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Ryerson University's School of Business Management in Toronto and an accomplished athlete. Norm hiked with the expedition to Everest Base Camp.

Tim Redpath is president of Train of Thoughts, a marketing consulting business. Tim is handling the marketing and communications for both the Everest expedition and the Ad Astra initiative.
